IN MOLD DECORATION

In Mold Decoration (IMD) is a cost effective method of decorating plastic parts. It consists of four steps: Printing, Forming, Trimming and Injection Molding. After a plastic film is silk screen printed with a customer’s design, it is then thermo-formed over a soft tooled mold. Once the plastic decoration is shaped it is trimmed to size. After trimming, the shaped film is placed into an injection mold and a selected mold material is injected behind it forming an integrated bond. IMD offers long lasting decoration with multiple colors and textures. Beyond IMD, membrane switches and/or additional double injection molding can be added to your part or product for extended functionality.

Common commissioning for molding products such as fittings of a highly acid chemical. A one-piece rod and a standard L/D ratio screw design makes melt flow smoothly. Includes a standard, grade B, bimetallic screw barrel to provide a better wear-resistance and lifespan. Radiation fans set on top of the sleeve of the barrel to avoid overheating issues of the rigid PVC inside of the barrel.

Standard L/D ratio of 24 times and above for good plasticizing quality. Application of barrier type screw features and an extra barrier ridge to ensure homogenous plasticization when melting PET. Because of the viscosity of the PET, the screw speed and capacity of the hydraulic motor is upgraded to achieve higher plasticization. Compatible with auxiliaries such as PET preform molds, material dryer, mold sweat dehumidifier, water chiller, conveyor and post-cooling automation. Optional features such as a shut-off nozzle or an ejector on the fly are available. These are for shortening the total cycle time and maximizing the output.
