New Trade Show for Ukraine’s Plast and Packaging Industry

German and Ukrainian trade show specialists fairtrade and Euroindex launch UkrPlastik in September 2014
(Heidelberg, Germany) Ukraine’s 1st International trade show on plastics and packaging technology and material is scheduled for 23-25 September 2014 at the KyivExpoPlaza in Kiev. UkrPlastik 2014 takes place on the background of fast growing Ukrainian imports of plastics and packaging technology. This B2B event is organised by two well experienced organisers, the German trade fair specialists fairtrade and their Ukrainian partner Euroindex of Kiev.

According to VDMA-The German Engineering Association, Ukrainian imports of plastics machinery and equipment, in 2012, have increased by13.4% to 57.2 million Euro compared to 50.4 million Euro in 2011 and 51.9 million Euro in 2010. Germany, China, Italy, Taiwan, Japan, Poland, Switzerland, Russia, France, Turkey, Austria, Hungary, India, the United Kingdom, South Korea and Spain have been the major supplier countries. „The Ukrainian market for plastics technology is one of the most important ones in Eastern Europe“, says Martin März, Managing Director with fairtrade.

The constantly high import volume of packaging machinery and equipment (114.1 million Euros in 2012) underlines this statement additionally. Here Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Poland, France, Russia, Bulgaria, Austria, China, Switzerland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Israel, Luxemburg, Lithuania, South Korea, Denmark, the Netherlands, Hungary, India, Slovakia, Slovenia and the USA have been the main supplier countries.

UkrPlastik 2014 will be organised in parallel to the two longestablished Euroindex shows on Digital Printing - T-REX and on Advertising – REX, with 12,370 registered trade visitors and 176 exhibitors from 7 countries in 2012.

In-depth knowledge of the Ukrainian market and of the plastics and packaging industry are the foundation for the successful launch of UkrPlastik in September 2014. Since 1997, fairtrade and Euroindex use to jointly organise elcomUkraine, Central Europe's largest energy and electrical engineering trade fair featuring 412 exhibitors and 11,282 registered trade visitors in April 2013.
